The Laodicean Age These are the last days. Most people today are lost. Such lost men and women are not the least bit concerned about either their souls, nor Eternity. This is not surprising, because the Bible says that there is "none that seeketh after God".
What is much more surprising, is to discover that the vast majority of those who call themselves Christians are not very concerned about their souls nor are they concerned about Eternity. In fact, opinion poll after opinion poll has found that most so-called Christians today are actually quite similar in their attitudes and opinions to the lost people out in the world. As those in the world are spiritually asleep, so are most so-called Christians today -- the lost goats and the saved sheep both asleep together. We are indeed finally in the Laodicean Age of the church, the final Church Age of Great Apostasy.
Jesus had a lot to say to us concerning this Laodicean Church Age. Jesus said in Revelation Chapter 3 that today's so-called Christians would be "naked" and "blind" and spiritually "poor". Jesus said that today's typical church members would not be hot or cold. They would instead be "lukewarm".
It has happened just as Jesus said that it would. Most church members today are quite spiritually asleep. Most churches are also asleep as the "midnight hour" approaches. Preachers who preach fiery sermons are shown the "Not Welcome" mat by just about every church today. Few even seem to notice the great lack of fiery, sin-rebuking sermons in today's apostasy. Most so-called "Christians" today desire "lukewarm" rather than "hot" preaching. They just want to sit back and listen, (or not listen as is generally the case), to a verse-by-verse Bible study and then go back home. They want to live the rest of the week in deep sin and rebellion against the clear commandment of Christ to "take up" the "cross" and live an "on-fire" life for Him.
Are you like that? Do you desire to be lukewarm? If you do, then Jesus said that the reason for this desire of yours to be lukewarm, is that you are spiritually "blind" and "naked". The reason for such blindness and nakedness is most likely that you have never been truly converted.
Turn from your sin. Trust Jesus and He will save you from your sin. He is up in Heaven right now, and can wash away your sins with His blood. Trust Jesus today. Don't put it off. Reject sin. Find life. Find Jesus. Then get into a good Fundamentalist Baptist church and live a "hot" and "fiery" life for Jesus. Do it today!
